The cognitive ability to create art separate from the body must have originated in Africa but the practice may have begun at different times in genetically and culturally distinct groups both within Africa and during global dispersal, leading to the regional variety seen in both ancient and recent art.

Analysis of early tool-making techniques suggests that creating 3D objects (sculptures and reliefs) involves their cognitive deconstruction into a series of surfaces, a principle that could have been applied to early sculpture. The creation of images from the imagination, or ‘the mind’s eye’, required a seminal evolutionary change in the neural structures underpinning perception this change would have had a survival advantage in both tool-making and hunting. 3D art may have begun with human likeness recognition in natural objects, which were modified to enhance that likeness some 2D art has also clearly been influenced by suggestive features of an uneven surface. Zig-zag and criss-cross patterns, nested curves and parallel lines are the earliest known patterns to have been created separately from the body their similarity to entopic phenomena (involuntary products of the visual system) suggests a physiological origin.

The earliest known evidence of ‘artistic behaviour’ is of human body decoration, including skin colouring with ochre and the use of beads, although both may have had functional origins. The origins of art are therefore much more ancient and lie within Africa, before worldwide human dispersal.

The 2D and 3D art forms that were created by Upper Palaeolithic Europeans at least 30 000 years ago are conceptually equivalent to those created in recent centuries, indicating that human cognition and symbolling activity, as well as anatomy, were fully modern by that time. The components of art include colour, pattern and the reproduction of visual likeness. Are they good? Are they bad? Are you confused about something? Please let me know and I can explain what I ment by something that confused you.Creating visual art is one of the defining characteristics of the human species, but the paucity of archaeological evidence means that we have limited information on the origin and evolution of this aspect of human culture. I hope that this is seen and what are is the opinion of the community on my ideas. If this idea is a bit to much for the game, I can understand. Like Trex should take down a triceratops differently from a carcharadontosaurus. These would add a much higher variety and the large carnivores should be able to duel large herbivours, in their own way. Like Trex and Acro or Carchara and Spino. If the same age, then it sould be a flip of a coin of who is going to win.įourth Idea: More fights.

But the fights odds should be determined by age. For example, If a allosaurus attacks a herd of lets say, Camarasaurs, The lead animal of the herd should challenge the allosaur and that should be the fight. Third Idea: If a predetor attacks a herd as in, charging in blindly, the lead male or female should meet the attacker and they should battle. But the bigger the animal, the less it should care Unless, it is of the same species or same herd. Not saying that everthing should just run away but if nothing (as in herbivores and other carnivores) knows what is happening, they would look and watch what is happening. Second Idea: The battles themselves should cause attention and panic. One Idea: the battles should be more violent and longer lasting. I know I should have put this on their forums but and I know that this will be there, but I hope that the death duels that were in JPOG will return, but with more flare and realizm. Feel free to join our forum with more, easier to keep track about ideas etc.

I will for sure bring the idea to the rest of the team!Īgain thanks for all the ideas! Please keep them coming.

I really like the idea about growing plants selling them etc. I can ensure you that all the players and fans will have a say how they think it should be, no worries about that! We strive to make different environments beside “tropical”, who doesn’t love a woolen mammoth. We will balance the game so you can do whatever you want and but still with some challenges and rewards. We hope not to limit any creativity you want to put into your own park. Thanks, everyone for the ideas I will try to answer them all. Hey all :) I am one of the developers a Prehistoric Kingdom.
